I suppose with it being the end of the year many inventions made this year are hitting the press now. So here is a quick list of items of interest from the last week.

• Volkswagen's Twincharger a turbocharged and supercharged engine that delivers high mpg and high performance.

• MIT has developed new Lithium Ion batteries that will be cheap and powerful. The first commercial use will be in power tools, but expect them in a hybrid car near you.
